David Folkes
Managing Partner
David is a strong leader and entrepreneur who has been party to four successful start- ups in the insurance industry including retail and wholesale brokerage, Carrier and MGA’s. Jupiter Underwriting is his latest endeavor. Past experiences underwriting Professional, Liquor, General Liability, Excess, and Umbrella Liability (direct and facultative reinsurance), enabled him to develop successful programs in the Crane and Rigging industry and Professional Sports Leagues. His work for the latter is still in place today, almost 25 years later.
He possesses technical coverage knowledge combined with a customer first and “source underwriting” point of view. Underwriting the person submitting the business is paramount. Assembling strong teammates with integrity who follow his philosophy challenging the status quo and embracing change with a customer-focused attitude, having excellent listening skills, and being a decision maker has been his success formula. Dennis WJ Burton
Chief Underwriting Officer
Dennis has over 30yrs of Casualty Underwriting experience. Prior to Jupiter Underwriting Group he held Senior Management positions at ACE/Chubb, Navigators and AIG. Mr. Burton attained a BS in Accounting from Alfred University.
Tyler Alexander
Underwriter
Tyler has more than five years of experience in commercial casualty. He began his career at Selective Insurance in its Premium Audit Department rising to Manager prior to moving to Jupiter Underwriting Group. Tyler attained a B.S. in Accounting from Villanova University.
Richard J. Mullarkey
Secretary and Treasurer
Richard Mullarkey had a 30 year career on Wall Street working for several Major Banks and Brokerage Firms. He spent 15 years as a market maker on the New York Mercantile Exchange. His expertise is in Oil and Gas Futures. Richard brings years of Risk Management and financial experience to the team at Jupiter.
John F. Settar
Account Manager
John has more than 8 years of experience in Underwriting Operations. Before joining Jupiter Underwriting, John held Senior Operations/Team Leader positions in both Medical Risk and Construction at Ace/Chubb. Prior to that, he served as a Federal Officer with the Department of Defense and in the Coast Guard for 14 years.
Elisha Shepherd
Assistant Account Manager
Elisha joins Jupiter Underwriting Group after working at Chubb Insurance for 3 years in the North America - Major Accounts - Construction Division. She has an extensive background working in the Auto Industry for 7 years and Debt-Recovery Industry for 8 years. Her versatile experience develops and delivers tailored solutions within the insurance industry.
Teresa Pavlin
Account Manager
Teresa has 35 years’ experience in underwriting, reinsurance, audit, operations and communications. She started her career at the agency level then moved to CIGNA and ACE prior to working at Jupiter Underwriting Group. Teresa attained a BA in Mathematics from Bucknell University.
Suzanne Shannon

Suzanne has a long history as an Executive Assistant in the Investment Banking Industry, she joins the team to offer Administrative Support.
